Scope of Distribution Manager Position:

It is the responsibility of the Distribution Manager to support the Operations Manager’s efforts to run an efficient warehouse and service our customer’s efficiently and profitably. On a daily basis, the distribution manager is responsible for the coordination of all inbound and outbound freight, the most economical use of our equipment and personnel, and accountable for the proper storage and pulling of all inventory, with safety being the highest priority throughout. This position requires management and people development skills. The Distribution Manager is responsible for supporting the Operations Manager’s effort in keeping the handling expenses within budget to help the branch and company achieve all planned goals. The distribution manager is accountable for the DFW Warehouse and 14th st warehouse respectively.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Train, educate, evaluate and monitor receiving and shipping departments as well as inventory control and safety
  • Identify strengths of department and personnel to maximize efficiency as well as the service levels given to our customers
  • Provide an environment that allows for independent decision-making and empowerment for employees
  • Assist in problem solving and issue resolution for warehouse team
  • Evaluate and monitor receiving schedule for efficiency and workflow
  • Ensure outbound orders are shipped accurately and timely
  • Constant evaluation of processes and procedures to ensure high levels of performance in the receiving, shipping, and inventory control
  • Ensure the quality process is adhered to and is a high priority for all warehouse associates
  • Ensure all safety policies are adhered to at ALL times
  • Ensure material handling equipment is properly used and maintained by warehouse staff
  • Work effectively with delivery team, sales, office staff, and management, making good decisions in a manner that will successfully meet the needs of our customers in an efficient manner
